THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME A SCRIPTURE TO STUDY, I JUST WOULD LIKE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT GOD'S HOLY DAYS, WHY HAVEN'T I HEARD OF THESE, BUT I HAVE GROWN UP HEARING AND CELEBRATING EASTER, X-MAS, DO YOU HAVE ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THESE DAYS? LEAVENED AND UNLEAVENED BREAD? THE FEASTS, ETC. I AM JUST CONFUSED, AND I WANT TO KNOW MORE... WE STILL PAY TITHES, SO WHY NOT HONOR THE HOLY DAYS? WHAT DAY IS THE HOLY SABBATH, ACCORDING TO GOD, ISN'T IT DAY 7? I UNDERSTAND WE ARE TO PRAISE GOD WITH EVERY BREATH, AND THAT IS ALL GOOD, HE GAVE MAN SABBATH, NOT SABBATH FOR MAN. I STATED SATURDAY ONLY BECAUSE MAN'S 1ST DAY IS SUNDAY, RIGHT. GOD DID NOT USE DAYS OF THE WEEK, S-S. HE USED NUMBERS 1-7. CONTINUALLY PRAISING GOD IS ALL GOOD, I AM JUST TRYING TO SEE IF SOME GOOD GOD FEARING PEOPLE HAVE ANY SCRIPTURES THEY COULD HELP A SISTER OUT WITH. | ||||||

'Feasts and Festivals of Israel 'The major festivals of Old Testament Israel were, in calendar order, Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits, the Feast of Weeks (Pentecost), the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Booths (Tabernacles or Ingathering). After the exile, the Jews added memorial days for the fall of Jerusalem (eventually fixed as the Ninth of Ab), Purim, and the Feast of Dedication (Hanukkah). In addition, the Israelites observed the Sabbath every week and the feast of the New Moon every lunar month.' ____________________ Paragraph 1 of the article 'Feasts and Festivals of Israel' in Baker's Evangelical Dictionary of Biblical Theology To read the rest of the article go to (http://bible.crosswalk.com/Dictionaries/BakersEvangelicalDictionary/bed.cgi) |
