1 | Jesus earth: God/man or just man? | NT general Archive 1 | Lionstrong | 5155
Just a little refinement of your wording, adonastorg. Jesus is a MEMBER of the Trinity, which is a better word than "part." "Part" suggests an assembly which makes something complete. In the case of God, the Father is fully God in Himself. That is, apart from the Son or the Holy Spirit, the Father is fully God. This is also true of each member of the Trinity. Each person is fully God apart from the other persons. Lionstrong |

Yes, Lionstrong, I agree! Each Member of the Trinity is fully God in their Own right. However, I also believe that the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (all Members and fully God Themselves) are forever in union with each Other (though not in the same Person!) and wherever One of the Three are, the Others are There also. Therefore, Jesus is the First and the Last with the Father and the Holy Spirit. But Jesus is the only One of the Three of the Holy Trinity that has given us access to a Way that we can be in a right relationship with God. Therefore, the Father sent the Son and the Holy Spirit points us to Jesus, being in every way God. If you reject Jesus, then you reject both the Father and the Holy Spirit also. If you reject the Father and/or the Holy Spirit, then you also reject Jesus. In this way are the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit inseparable and omniscient, each being fully and having all the qualities of God, and each (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit) are distinct persons in the Trinity. Thank you for your answer! I do not claim to have all the answers or know everything, but I am just sharing what I believe as a fellow brother in Christ.

Hi Nolan Keck, I'm not in an agrumentative mood today. I liked your posting with Lionstrong on 5/12 regarding the Trinity. I liked your recent posting where you gave references of each Person being the Truth. What I would like to talk to you about is where you say here that, "But Jesus is the only one of the Three of the Holy Trinity that has given us access to a Way that we can be in a right relationship with God." Look at your posting again and see if you can not capitalize the other words of "way". Look at John 14:4 with me, but in the NKJ because they have the pronouns that I see in different order. "And where I go you know, and the Way you know."NKJ John 14:5,"Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the Way? Jesus said to him, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." And then the big question in verse 7 is, "Do we know Him?" I see God saying in verse two, "I go to prepare a place for you." I see the the Man being spoken to in verse five, ..."we do not know where You are going,..." I see the Spirit saying to us, "Do you know Me?" I do not claim to have all the answers or know everything, but I am just sharing what I believe as a fellow brother in Christ. Later, Ray |

Hey Ray, Good point! Yes, the way that you have explained it- the Three are here as well. Sorry about not capitalizing Way in the post, I try to fix all my typing errors but some slip by (here's a suggestion to Lockman - Study Bible Forum proofreader/spellchecker :) ) Anyways, what you said was both introspective and expounding on the Truth of scripture at the same time and I am in full agreement! I mentioned "Jesus was the only way" based on "No man can come to the Father but by Me", but I can see where the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit would all take a part in having a person come to know Jesus. I saw John 14:4 in the NKJV and noticed that it follows the KJV in this passage instead of the ASV 1901, which simply reads, "And whither I go, ye know the way." In my opinion, the NKJV repeats this type of 'carryover' sentence structure throughout its translation, which is another reason why I think that the NASB would prove to be superior to it in a best of seven series.. :)
