Emmaus - Thanks for pointing out the distinction between the 'minor' and 'major' prophets. I wonder that others may have been under the same mistaken notion about them that I was in my early days when in Bible study class I heard about the major and minor prophets and thought that it was a way of designating their importance. I don't know who came up with the classifications of major and minor prophets. It is rather misleading. Better to call them prophets and let it go at that. --Hank

Darcy, yes, shorter works do have a certain appeal. I read far more short stories than novels of the length of "War and Peace," that's for sure. ..... In our Bible study group last evening, we studied Obadiah, not only the shortest book written by any prophet but the shortest in the entire Old Testament. A man of few words was Obadiah. Yet in only 21 verses, God used Obadiah to deliver a powerful message to Edom. --Hank
