I was talking to a friend the other evening and he said that the pentacostal practice of "pleading the blood" of Jesus was unscriptural. I am unfamiliar with this practice but did want to know if it is scriptural and if so what scriptures?
2 | Is "pleading the blood" scriptural? | Bible general Archive 1 | EdB | 10864
I learned something I never knew, that this term was contributed to Pentecostals only. I have heard and used it repeatedly and never thought about it. No it is not in the Bible and to me it is nothing more than a statement of my position in Christ. I am under the blood, therefore when something negative comes up in my life I plead the blood or verbally reinforce my position in Christ, that Jesus has given me the victory and what shall I fear for greater is He (Jesus) who is in me than he who is the world. When I do this I receive a peace and I'm comforted that I'm not along, but He is with me and sticks closer than a brother. |
