What is Arminian? I suppose this question is directed to morant61. Tim, Several times now, I have read your allusion to the term Arminian. I am familiar with Calvinism, but if I have ever been exposed to the term Arminian, I don't recall. Can you give me some information? Thank you, my brother. Bobbie Faye |

Hello and Greetings! I encourage everyone to study these points about Calvinism and Arminianism strongly before just deciding one way. I myself am a "Calminian", I don't agree with either one all the way. But take a look for yourself. T - Total Depravity U - Unconditional Election L - Limited Atonement I - Irresistible Grace P - Preservation of the Saints T.U.L.I.P - This is the Acronym for the Calvinist Perspective, for an in depth view of this perspective see: http://www.prca.org/pamphlets/pamphlet_41.html This site explains it quite well! A letter from John Wesley explains the Arminian perspective quite well along with the calvanist too. http://gbgm-umc.org/umhistory/wesley/arminian.stm Another goodie: http://www.dcn.davis.ca.us/(type a tilda here)gvcc/theology_notes/Calvin_and_Arminius.html This website looks at the Arminian perspective IN DEPTH: http://members.aol.com/RSICHURCH/reform1.html I encourage you to look at both in Prayer and decide for yourself. Or, as I have done, take from one and take from the other. Either way, KNOW WHAT YOU BELIEVE! And hey, let's not get too dogmatic! *grin* Remember it has been an issue for hundreds of years. In His Grace, Lewis. |
