1 | Which spirit does God jealously desire? | James 4:5 | EdB | 146231 | ||
James is speaking to fellow believers. The Spirit here is the Holy Spirit that dwells in very believer. He jealously desires us to worship God not he things of this world. God's desire is for us to abandon our worldly wants and desires and seek Him and Him alone. To many Christians refuse to let go of the world they seek fine living and even search scripture for verses that might promise this. But scripture tells us to seek God, His Kingdom and all else will take care of itself. That doesn't mean we will get all else it means our "real" needs will be met. God is jealous he will not share our love with the world. EdB |
