1 | Is this The Right Tongues?!!!! | James 1:20 | DocTrinsograce | 197869 | ||
Dear Brother John, Here's another approach that certainly has a lot of merit. http://www.bible-researcher.com/bible-study2.html Most of the time the problem is not with our Bible study method... instead, it has to do with our inability to make the commitment to persevere in our study. The inductive study method does have a lot going for it... especially when it comes to asking the right questions as we study. That is really essential for soundly interpreting the Scriptures. Another approach is the exegetical study method. Dever teaches this method alongside the inductive method. In Him, Doc |

Thanks Doc, I'll check out the website. And I agree with the problem not being what method, I think I was pretty clear on that in my previous posts, and your right, without motivation no method will work. :-) I've been somewhat familiar with those methods of study from reading some of your old posts on Hermeneutic exegesis and I'm just getting to know Dever. I've been listing to some of his sermons/lectures at 9Marks, I have about 20 so far on mp3, very good stuff! I'm also quite involved in reading the reformers bios. I'm lovin it! I'm playing catch-up after 50 some years of being a lacker and a slacker. There is so much to learn, I hope it, (learning about God, getting to know His word, His Heart, His People, and His Angels) will go on to eternity, I believe it will. God bless John |
