Hi Hank, Your "good to see you again on SBf" gives me a feeling that I am among helpful friends.I convey my thanks and appreciation. You said "..there is no biblical support for praying for the dead" But it is not uncommon to see Pastors saying prayers when the coffin is being brought into the church for the funeral rites. Can you relate,please. Thanks. |

Robert; Just a personal note from my point of view. I believe any prayers said at a funeral rite should be for those still living. We can pray that God will use the circumstance to get others to consider where they will spend eternity. I don't however see what prayer can accomplish for the dead. |
