1 | Are angels sinful? | Heb 12:26 | Morant61 | 135589 | ||
Greetings Mike! This site can be a lot of fun! I understand what you are saying, but I am always one who encourages people not to say more than Scripture actually says. Scripture simply doesn't say that Satan reigns here on earth. John 14:30 does speak of a 'prince of this world', who many would say is Satan. However, John 12:31 seems to indicate that his 'rule' ended with the death and resurrection of Christ. Further, I am not sure that 'reign' or 'rule' would ever be appropriate terms for Satan's activities on earth simply because he does not possess the power to rule over God. :-) Thus, in your passage from Revelation, I would say that the binding is not a stopping of Satan's reign, but a stopping of his influence on this world - period! :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Tim, I can agree with everything you say. Maybe I am adding or reading too much into what is actually not there. I also agree that rule or reign is a poor choice of words on my part. God is only allowing him to influence us in this world. During the time mentioned in Revelation, God will not allow Satan to have any control during Christ's 1000 year reign. |
