Sorry Sis, I'm not seeing it that way. I'm not denying that this was for the Israelites. The question is, as I understand it to be, can the principles governing this verse be applied today. I believe they can. What? God never bought you up from Egypt? From the bondage of sin? From your old hard taskmaster before Christ? I believe the principles governing this verse can be applied today. I was never in Egypt ... there are no chariots ... and the CONTEXT proves this is for Israel only. While we can learn from this PASSAGE - in CONTEXT, we may not claim it for us. If you think this VERSE about Israel can apply to us ... do you take ALL PASSAGES about Israel and apply it to us. Read the CONTEXT abd answer my question ... including the punishment. |
