1 | Is the bride of christ the church? | Eph 5:32 | Hank | 144454
Sam :: The text of Revelation 21:2 does not say that new Jerusalem IS the bride of Christ. What it says is "made ready AS A BRIDE ADORNED FOR HER HUSBAND" (caps supplied for emphasis). "Bride" is an important NT metaphor for the church. See Matthew 25:1-13 and Ephesians 5:25-27. Of course the church is also referred to as Christ's body (See 1 Cor. 12:27). --Hank
