1 | How Trinity of God is working? | Gal 4:6 | DocTrinsograce | 190335
Hi, Winson... The doctrine of our triune God cannot be explained. It is a teaching that is clearly in the Scripture, but it defies human understanding. We can state unequivocally those things that God has revealed to us, but the reality of it all is beyond our grasp. Of course, that shouldn't make us sad... after all, who would want a God that could be fully understood by His creatures? In Him, Doc |

2 | How Trinity of God is working? | Gal 4:6 | RC Scrolls | 190345
In our studies we often find scripture that will suffice as to the revelation of the Holy Trinity or what I prefer is the Triunity of God. We can understand a little in this life but not all, if we are to say we know all of God we would be a lier, but we can aprehend but not totally comprehend. I have often used a ball as an example of this theory. You can hold a part of the ball, you can see some of it, but not all at once. So you can grasp a part but not all. The best way Ihave found to declare the Triunity of God is here in scripture, in Galatians we find that God the Father Riased Christ. Gal 1:1 (KJV) Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;) In Johns gospel we find that Jesus raised Himself from the dead. John 2:19-21 (KJV) Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. 20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? 21 But he spake of the temple of his body. And here in Romans we have a declaration of the Holy Spirit raising Christ from the Dead. Romans 8:11 (KJV) 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. And we can also show that the three all are God in Acts 26:8 (KJV) Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead? What we need to be careful of is an earlier statemant a another post that said that the Father dealt with His people in the Older Testament. The problem here is that all three have strove with man forever. We know that Jesus wrestled with Jacob, created the Heavens and earth and parted the sea etc. And we can visually see all three in an older testament passage as well. Not to mention when we know Hebrew the voices of scriptures always speak in first second and third voices. More than 700 passages are known in Hebrew. And over 70 passages in the Newer Testament: Heres on old testament scripture that codifies the Triunity of God Isaiah 48:15-16 I, (God the Father) even I, have spoken; yea, I have called him: ( God the Son ) I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous. 16 Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit,(God the Holy Spirit) hath sent me. I hope this helps. Love in Christ Jesus RC |

Dear RC, Welcome to the forum! Thank you for your comments. Actually, I believe that even in Glory we will not comprehend many of these things. Surely we'll see more clearly, but to comprehend God requires one the intellect of God. What a joy, though, as we spend eternity apprehending Him! :-) What I do find frustrating, though, is how rarely people are taught Church history. In two thousand years, most of the heresies simply get touted back out again. There's nothing new under the sun. The Church has dealt with these heresies conclusively, but we rarely go back and dust off those discussions, and allow them to illumine our way today. Just so, these notions regarding the Trinity. The Nicene Creed says it all so clearly, succinctly, and briefly. I hope you continue participating in the forum. In Him, Doc |

Dear RC, Regarding the "funny questions..." I don't agree with Dr. Ed Stetzer on everything, but he said something that is pertinent to this point. "His [Paul's in Acts 17:16] spirit was troubled and yet just a few verses later he walks into the Areopagus and proclaims the Gospel using the culture from which he came into and from which he was troubled. I think we need to have a troubled relationship with culture. It doesn’t mean -- that because cultural relevance matters -- that we just adapt culture without forethought or discernment. I think culture should disturb us. And the problem is that for many of us is that we are only disturbed by other people’s culture. I think there is part of our culture that should disturb us. There are sins and idols and hindrances and strongholds in our culture that ought to deeply concern us. So Paul’s spirit was troubled within him when he saw the city was full of idols … [But] context matters. The how of ministry is frequently determined by the who, and the when, and the where of ministry … If you are going to get the culture then part of the culture needs to trouble you. I’m concerned that for many right now in some emerging church circles that they are more troubled by the Gospel than they are by their culture. Brothers and sisters, I think we need to get troubled by the culture and rely on the Gospel." He goes on to say... "Here is the question we asked 1,200 Americans: After reading or hearing about the DaVinci Code are you more or less likely to seek the truth by studying the Bible? Forty-four percent said they are more likely to seek the truth through studying the Bible. Do I want this false heretical expression? Of course I don’t. But do I recognize that God is already at work and what we need to do is acknowledge the positive -- and yes, rebuke the negative -- but at the same time see that God is already at work and join Him there by asking people to join in studying the Bible together to see what it says? Instead of picketing and protesting [the movie] many are seeing this as an opportunity to engage in missional ministry in context." I'd venture that although the questions are odd, unlearned, and sometimes silly, nevertheless they represent a point of contact between the Word and the world. No matter the content of the questions, we know one thing: these questions are being posed by people who believe that the answers they seek are in the Scriptures. That's a pretty powerful opportunity, wouldn't you say? In Him, Doc |

Dear Brother Doc, "I'd venture that although the questions are odd, unlearned, and sometimes silly, nevertheless they represent a point of contact between the Word and the world. No matter the content of the questions, we know one thing: these questions are being posed by people who believe that the answers they seek are in the Scriptures. That's a pretty powerful opportunity, wouldn't you say?" Oh, how loving of you to say that! I remember when the 12 disciples were with Jesus, they always asked Him silly questions. Jesus always answered them with patience and love, and used "baby talks" to explain the truth to them. Our Lord is the example for those who are gifted with teachings, like many of you guys on the forum. Keep up the good work for His glory and for the Word seekers. Shalom Azure |

Thank you for the encouragement, Sister Azure. I like what John Bunyan wrote, "If thou findest me short in things, impute that to my love of brevity. If thou findest me besides the truth in anything, impute that to mine infirmity. But if thou findest anything here that serveth to thy furtherance and joy of the faith, impute that to the mercy of God bestowed on thee and me. Thine to serve thee with that little I have." |
