1 | Live by faith IN Or Live by faith OF? | Gal 2:20 | ccchang | 143295
I have always understood that I need all the faith I can muscle to have faith in the Son of God. Then someone explained that it should be "... I live by the faith of the Son of God...". This of course changed the whole perspective because I may have doubt in my faith but I have no doubt that He has the faith. This someone told me it is from the amplified bible. But, I do not find it worded exactly like that in the AB ....Could you help?
2 | Live by faith IN Or Live by faith OF? | Gal 2:20 | Ray | 143302
Hi ccchang, I have no problem with "faith in the Son of God". Another option for you however, is the word "to" or "toward" which I find in some translations. Here you would have the idea that one is "working" toward a viable faith while not nullifying the grace of God. Verse 16 gives us the information that we are justified by faith in Christ; it gives us the contrast between the flesh and the Spirit. Have you begun by,in,with the Spirit? Welcome to the forum. From the heart, Ray |
