1 | Door-to-door false teachers | Gal 1:8 | Hank | 63425
Johnny, while the easiest way with false teachers may well be, as you say, just to say no to them, it is not a viable defense. It's easy enough to slam the door in their face, but this rudeness does not mirror the image of how a Christian should respond. Remember 1 Peter 3:15 that speaks of making a defense? Remember how that verse ends? The last four words are "with gentleness and reverence." False teachers at our doorstep present an opportunity to proclaim the gospel. We can at the very least make an effort to show them, to use Paul's words to the Corinthians, "a still more excellent way." [1 Cor. 12:31] --Hank
