Hello Good News Man, From my study of Judas, I see no compelling evidence that he was ever truly saved. From verses like John 13:2, we see that satan entered his heart. In John 12:6 he's called a thief. Certainly neither of these are descriptive of a believer (several other examples are available). His ultimate action in Matt. 27:5, is in direct opposition to that described in 2 Cor. 7:10- "For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death." It would appear that Judas' sorrow was "of the world" as it produced death, while true sorrow leads to salvation! Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |
