1 | going to heaven | 1 Cor 15:1 | Jaded13 | 16449
I have heard many people say when a person dies"well they are with God now" or that the person is in heaven. Why then if at the time when Christ returns will "we rise up from the grave to join with him in the clouds" if we are suppose to be already with him in heaven?
2 | going to heaven | 1 Cor 15:1 | Listener | 16450
The following verses indicate that when we "sleep" in Christ we (our souls only) go to be with him. When our bodies are resurected at the second coming (1 Thess. 4:16-18) they are made perfect and we are complete. 2 Corinthians 5 8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15 50 I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed-- 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. |
