1 | Was Jesus Christ the God of the Old Test | 1 Cor 10:4 | Arnie | 41690 | ||
Dear Ray, Thanks, what I find most interesting is that Christ entered into a marriage covenant with Israel, at Mount Sinai, Israel promised to faithfully obey all the commandments of God only to fail miserably, the part I find interesting, (I would like your comments) is Christ must have known that Israel would fail. Rom 9:32-33 32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. KJV Why would He enter into a relationship knowing it would fail? Arnie |

The LORD God explained why He chose the children of Israel. Deut 7:6 For you are a holy and set-apart people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a special people to Himself out of all the peoples on the face of the earth. Deut 7:7 The Lord did not set His love upon you and choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the fewest of all people. Deut 7:8 But because the Lord loves you and because He would keep the oath which He had sworn to your fathers, the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Deut 7:9 Know, recognize, and understand therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, Who keeps covenant and steadfast love and mercy with those who love Him and keep His commandments, to a thousand generations, Deut 7:10 And repays those who hate Him to their face, by destroying them; He will not be slack to him who hates Him, but will requite him to his face. |
