1 | Can Satan know our thoughts? | Rom 12:2 | BradK | 94350 | ||
Christian24, Radioman2 has appropriately answered your question. I concur. Nowhere in scripture are we told that Satan is omniscient! He isn't. It is not an attribute that he possess. Certainly in John 13:2 we see that "the devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, to betray Him". However, this example is a far cry from giving Satan carte-blanche knowledge of our thoughts. As C.S. Lewis once wisely remarked "we error when we either give satan too much credit, or not enough" (my paraphrase). Speaking The Truth In Love, BradK |

please read my response before you try to answer what i've said. I've read all of the answers throughout. My answer came from out of reading T.D Jakes book on "Fighting the Enemy". And studing the writings of Apostle Paul. You all have taken my answer past what I have said. I never siad that Satan was equal to God, nor did I say that he posses the same power. But many of you all have all agreed that satan does put bad thoughts in your mind. Now think carefully on that, if he can put bad thoughts in your mind, that means he has some insight on your thoughts. No he cannot control them unless you let him. Many people enter this forum without using common knowledge and want to mix words in to what they think they read without reading the answer through out. But please do not put words that I did not directly say into a forum. Unless you have read your bible and know history on it. I would prefer that you leave question that take more than a 5 min thought and answer alone. |

Christian24 In a sense your right. While Satan can not read our minds he does know human nature and how humans react. Therefore if he plants a thought in our head he can sit back and watch our reaction. From observation he can then determine his next course of action. If he puts a pretty young creature of the opposite sex before us he can watch our reaction. Do we look away and turn our attention back to ous spouse or do we let our minds haze over and allow lust to become evident in our lives. when Satan sees us turn back to our spouse he knows not to waste anymore time with that appraoch. However if he sees us going to where we shouldn't Satan then may open a door of opportunity for us to follow through in our sins. I think the problem you were having getting agreement with your post was in the wording of your first answer. When I first read it I thought you were saying Satan can read our minds also. I think how you stated this post could show a little hostility or anger that ought not be there. EdB |
