2 | "Spiritual vs logical" act of worship. | Rom 12:1 | Searcher56 | 194871 | ||
God's day to you, mhcarder, The adjective logikos is from the noun masculine, logos (Strong's 3056) which is speech ... in turn is from the verb lego (Strong's 3004), which is (to say, to speak). Logikos is only used one other time pure milk of the WORD (1Pe 2:2). Note latreia (Strong's 2999) is the word translated worship and means service. It is noun feminine, it is from the verb latreuo (Strong's 3000), which is to serve. So should it be the speech of our service? Look at the context of the entire chapter. Note also whenever when proskuneo (Strong's 4352), which is worship, is used with a form of latreia, the latter is always translated serve or service. The same is true with shachah (Strong's 07812), worship and and abad Strong's 05647) in the Hebrew. Searcher |
