1 | Do you need to be a Scholar? | Acts 4:13 | Morant61 | 150962 | ||
Greetings Katebote! We must be careful as to how we apply Acts 4:13! :-) Acts 4:13 is not a pronouncement from God that it is better to be illiterate than to be literate, or that it is better to be uneducated than to be educated. Rather, Acts 4:13 is a description of how the Jewish leaders viewed Peter and John. They would have considered anyone who had not had the same training as they had received to be illiterate. :-) Remember, these are the same people who called Jesus a drunkard. :-) With that in mind though, God does not expect us all to be geniuses. However, He does expect us to 'rightly' divide His word. He does expect us to search the Scriptures. So, we should take advantage of the scholarship of those who are geniuses. :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
