1 | Does God cause death like this? | Acts 17:11 | the_Kings_child | 155897
My question has to do with what certain people say at my church. I am not judging them or saying they are wrong but when they say these things it bothers me. I'll give two examples of what two people say all the time. One person said that when he was out of church that God took his mother because of it. He was a grown man at the time his mother died. Another example is by another man who says that God took his baby because he wasn't in church. It is scary to me because I know I'm a sinner saved by Grace but I am starting to feel worried and confused because I think I had better live perfectly or something bad might happen but I just can't bring myself to blame God for it. I really need some help from you my brothers or sisters to tell me if there is any truth in this?

The Kings child: Contrary to popular superstition, God is not some kind of divine Cop walking around with a big stick just waiting to punish you if you mess up. John 9:1-3 (ESV) As he [Jesus] passed by, he saw a man blind from birth. [2] And his disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" [3] Jesus answered, "It was not that this man sinned, or his parents..." Consider also that Job's friends told him that the reason he was suffering loss was that God was punishing him for his sins. They were wrong. This simply was not true. AMPLIFIED Romans 8:28 We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose. Grace to you, Kalos |
