1 | God heareth not sinners | John 9:31 | New Creature | 94102
EdB Concerning John 9:31 which the question revolved around I found a couple of interesting cross reference verses. Compare the following OT verses with the NT verse 9:31. Wouldn't you agree that these OT verses possibly help us better understand what was said in John 9:31: John 9:31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth. Psalm 66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: Jer. 5:25 Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear Prov. 15:29 The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous. Micah 3:4 Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings Grace be to you New Creature |

God doesn't have a problem with sin. Sin has been dealt with - the cross defeated sins power. God only has a problem with people not knowing His Son.
3 | God heareth not sinners | John 9:31 | New Creature | 94149
Dear Got it While it's true, that Jesus paid the penalty for sin. The fact still remains that those who know God do at times fall into a laspe of sin. And in these instances we are told that "if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9 In case you say we are without sin then consider 1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us John also is telling believers 1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous The perfect model is that "we sin not" However the fact remains that believers do sin. And when we sin it needs to be confessed to God, and then we should pray that we will receive His power and strength to turn from it. Grace be unto you New Creature |
