Greetings godsavs! I asked a question like this on the Forum a long time ago, but I am happy to say that your question has generated the type of response that I originally would have hoped that my question would have received! Praise the Lord! When leading someone to Christ, here is the "approach" that I generally go through in Scripture: 1) Realize that you are a sinner.. (Romans 3:23) "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." 2) The penalty for sin is death.. (Romans 6:23) "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." 3) Christ paid the penalty for your sin (1 Peter 3:18) "For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;" 4) We must repent of our sin.. (Acts 3:19) "Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may we wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;" 5) We must accept Christ by faith.. (Ephesians 2:8) "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;" 6) You must confess that Jesus is Lord.. (Romans 10:9,13) "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;" (v.9) "for "WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED." (v.13) Of course, I am not one to think that we "must" use a particular "way" in order to lead one to Christ! People are led to Christ through our attitudes, our actions, and our devotion to Him, as well as through our knowledge of Scripture. We must not forget the example of Philip who used Isaiah 53 to lead the Ethiopian to Christ! (Acts 8:25-40). Any Scripture, or any 'way' is a "good" way if the result is that a person truly accepts Jesus Christ into their heart! Blessings to you, Makarios |
