1 | Clarify in/on in John 3:16, 18 | John 3:16 | encourager4u | 124727
In John 3:16, the words "believeth in Him" are used and in verse 18, the words "believeth on Him" are used. One of our Bible teachers stated that in using on in verse 18, there was a different meeaning. Could I please get some clarification on this. Some of us could not understand why there was a difference. Either you believe or you don't. I don't see where using in or on makes a difference.
2 | Clarify in/on in John 3:16, 18 | John 3:16 | Morant61 | 124728
Greetings Encourager4u! As I am sure you are aware, the English is simply a translation of the original Greek text. The Greek in v. 16 and in v. 18 is exactly the same. Both say: "ho pisteuwn eis auton" Which translates, 'The one who believes in Him'. So, there is no difference in meaning between verses 16 and 18. I hope this helps! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
