2 | Can doctrine make us lausy christians? | John 17:17 | Hank | 147573
The doctrine of the eternal security of the believer is not necessarily an exclusively Calvinist distinctive. There are believers who would not classify themselves as being especially Calvinist or especially Arminian or especially anything else but a Christian who hold to the doctrine of the eternal security of the believer. --Hank
3 | Can doctrine make us lausy christians? | John 17:17 | Searcher56 | 147587
Hank, I am aware there could be people who only hold to the eternal security of the believer in their camp ... then switch sides. My concern is that not knowing the tenants of either camp, then discussing it here could cause both camps to jump in ... including those who don't know about Calvinist or Arminian camps. The problem I have being between camps, is when the rounds fired fall short and I have to run fast. Tougher when I am asleep. :-) Searcher |

4 | Can doctrine make us lausy christians? | John 17:17 | justme | 147732
Searcher56: I just read this note.I want to say I am educated on both sides, and maybe more than I wished I knew. I can carry on a dialogue that could defend either side. For me there is some truth in both sides. However, may I state LOUDLY that Jesus said in John 13:35 a stronger, higher principle which I believe to be above all these petty "sides of the issue", that if we fail to LOVE each other, these Doctrines are of NO VALUE! This advice will help everyone sleep better. Blessings. justme |
