2 | Can doctrine make us lausy christians? | John 17:17 | EdB | 147521 | ||
Lorenzo Can doctrine make us lausy christians? Yes lousy doctrine can make lousy Christians. Therefore the problem is we have to know what is lousy doctrine and what is not. How do we do this? We read the whole Bible and reconcile our understanding of any one passage to the whole. In other words God is not going to teach one idea here and a conflicting one somewhere else. To answer your second question if by the use of the word commodity your talking about materialistic yes your right. A Christians especially become more and more materialistic they find their needs satisfied outside the church. Eventually they have no need for Christianity for all their needs (they think) are met in what they possess. Their frustrations grow as they realize there is always something more, something else they think they need. Persecution always makes humans begin to reflect inward and then upward. First we try to blame, justify, explain their persecution then once they realize it is bigger than them, they turn to religion seeking help. EdB |
