Dear Lionheart, To answer your question, "how do we wake people up before it's too late" let me make a few points. First, remember that none of this is taking God by surprise. On the contrary, even back in David's time, He shared with us the purposes and practices of those who are His enemy. Read again Psalm 2. Second, nothing will impede God's eternal purpose; not men, not nations, not demons, not Satan himself. Everything is coming together in just the way He has ordained things to take place. Third, nothing happens that escapes God's attention. He sees not just events, but the plans and hearts of all creatures. Fourth, every molecule in the universe is under His immediate control. Therefore, every one of His promises are absolutely certain. What this all means is that we can take the following steps in perfect confidence. Pray. We know that God will always answer our prayers when they are according to His will (1 John 5:14). Knowing all of the above means that we can pray perfectly according to His will. That is a very powerful thing! Repent. We must understand that the root of our problems are not outside of us, but inside of us. Therefore, we begin by being repentant in the ways our own lives fail to reflect these things. Each time we see failings in other, that is a helpful moment to search out the same or worse failing in ourselves. We must correct the issues in ourselves, our homes, our congregations, etc. Prepare. It is lack of knowledge by which a people perish. As we pray for revival, we must recognize that if God grants it, there will be enormous work to be done. Our pastors will not be able to handle it all. Each of us will need to be teaching, preaching, and counselling others as an enormous hunger for the Word takes root. In order to do that, though, we must prepare through study and effort. Remember. God has provisioned us with a huge resource of lectures and sermons throughout history. We have more at our fingertips than ever before. This has a specific purpose according to Ephesians 4. Leverage those things in order to serve our Lord. Hope. Biblical hope is not just wishful thinking. It could be translated as "confident expectation." Our God has equipped us with all that we need unto godliness. Every single one of our efforts, even the most feeble, are matters of great hope. For our Lord will do what He has said. There is no "too late." In Him, Doc |
