1 | Actions to preach the kingdom of God | Luke 9:2 | 00123 | 224443 | ||
Inquisitor, Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Imitating the Lord thru our life is very important for ourselves as well as for efefctive preaching. But that was not answering my question, which was what the disciples did in the villages to preach the kingdom of God. I am interetsed their actions in the villages. God bless. |

Shalom 00123, We actually cannot answer that because we are not told in scripture. But to assume that they did what the Master did is not presumptuouse. They also probably followed the examples of previous Torah-teachers. They would go to the gates of the city and speak with the elders of the people there in hopes of finding lodging and a willingness to listen and learn. They would then go into the local synagogue or home where Moses would be taught on each Sabbath, and there they would preach the good news. If the elders would not receive them and their preaching they were to move on. This just about covers their physical actions. What they preached should not have been too much different than what the Master himself preached - Jer. 31:31 and all the places in the Scriptures where Messiah can be seen. Just my 2cents worth :o) |
