1 | Giving and Recieving | Luke 6:37 | NightJay0044 | 171183 | ||
Hi, with this verse. This basically means that whatever we give it what we'll recieve from others and things on earth? Does that mean anything and everything? Does that mean just how we image others? because isn't it true is what we give is what we recieve? Could someone give me some insight on this please, thanks. |

"Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure--pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return." NASB Luke 6:38 Give, and [gifts] will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will they pour into [the pouch formed by] the bosom [of your robe and used as a bag]. For with the measure you deal out [with the measure you use when you confer benefits on others], it will be measured back to you. AMPLIFIED Luke 6:38 'Give, and it shall be given unto you… Give liberally of your worldly substance to indigent persons, as you have an opportunity, according to your ability, and as cases require: and it shall be returned again to great advantage; with great recompense, either in temporals or spirituals, or both:' (Source: Gill, John. "Commentary on Luke 6:38". "The New John Gill Exposition of the Entire Bible". www.studylight.org) I think we can safely say that "Give, and it will be given to you" means "Give, and it will be given to you." When the plain sense makes good sense seek no other sense lest it be nonsense. |
