1 | God's Kingdom Power comes near the SC | Mark 9:1 | SanPat | 43357
In Mark 9:1 first we must understand that the phrase "taste of death" is not referring to physical death. Adam and Eve died spiritually when they ate from the tree (Gen. 2:17; Rom. 5:12.)Adam's physical life was 930 years (Gen. 5:5). So, Gen. 2:17 does not refer to physical death. Their spiritual relationship with God was broken. When we come to Christ, the "old man" dies and we are "a new creation". There were those who did not believe that Jesus was the Messiah until He "gave gave up the ghost" (Matt. 27:54). At that time, they "taste of death" and became "new creatures".

Jesus was talking about "taking up the cross and following Him" unto physical death in Mark 8:38. He is not here talking about dying in order to become "new creatures"; but to show they are "worthy of Him." They must be new creatures to begin with before they can die for Christ. Lastday |
