1 | God's Kingdom Power comes near the SC | Mark 9:1 | Lastday | 43257
The popular view that Mark 9:1 was fulfilled a week later has two basic flaws. It does not address the question of "not tasting death by any means until after Jesus comes in Kingdom Power." And it ignores the context for "tasting death." Jesus had just shown His concern for those who face death when He is "about to come in glory." The Transfiguration concerned Christ's death. It had nothing to do with "willing to take up our cross and follow Him" until the End. Only members of the Church who "overcome to the End will sit on thrones to reign with Christ." Rev.2:25,26. In Mark 9:1 first we must understand that the phrase "taste of death" is not referring to physical death. Adam and Eve died spiritually when they ate from the tree (Gen. 2:17; Rom. 5:12.)Adam's physical life was 930 years (Gen. 5:5). So, Gen. 2:17 does not refer to physical death. Their spiritual relationship with God was broken. When we come to Christ, the "old man" dies and we are "a new creation". There were those who did not believe that Jesus was the Messiah until He "gave gave up the ghost" (Matt. 27:54). At that time, they "taste of death" and became "new creatures".

Jesus was talking about "taking up the cross and following Him" unto physical death in Mark 8:38. He is not here talking about dying in order to become "new creatures"; but to show they are "worthy of Him." They must be new creatures to begin with before they can die for Christ. Lastday |
