1 | Getting to heaven part 1 | Matt 7:14 | kalos | 170712
This reply addresses the second part of your question, "Is it going to be hard or is it meant to be easy?" "For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.' Matthew 7:14 NASB But the gate is narrow (contracted by pressure) and the way is straitened and compressed that leads away to life, and few are those who find it. [Deut. 30:19; Jer. 21:8.] Matthew 7:14 AMPLIFIED 7:14 "difficult is the way." (NKJV) 'Christ continually emphasized the difficulty of following Him (Matt. 10:38; 16:24,25; John 15:18,19; 16:1-3; compare Acts 14:22). Salvation is by grace alone, but is not easy. It calls for knowledge of the truth, repentance, submission to Christ as Lord, and a willingness to obey His will and Word.' (MacArthur Study Bible, Word Publishing, 1997) |

2 | Getting to heaven part 2 | Matt 7:14 | NightJay0044 | 170716
Alright, about the verse Matthew 16:24: 24Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it." Alright, what does that mean for us to deny ourselves, does that mean not know that were really here and only think about Jesus? Also the meaning for the person must take up his cross and follow me? If I could get some understanding to that, I could get closer. Because I want to get as close as I can to Jesus before my time is up here on earth. I need some guidence, or maybe i don't always need guidence but I just need to believe... Thanks. |

God's day to you, NightJay0044, I'll post the answer in Matthew 16:24. It is a good idea to post questions under the new verse. It is easier to find what others have posted for a verse. |
