1 | can only male's from a church baptise | Matt 28:19 | justme | 73982
Igrabow: Welcome to the Forim! Scripture says nothing to prevent any genuine Christian from preventing them from baptizing a new believer in Christ. Although some would say this should be done through a local body of believers. Som Denomonations, some Souther Baptist will only acknowledge baptism done by an ordained Southern Baptist Deacon or Pastor. There are several churches that have female pastors and they do baptize. Most generaly it is done in the name of the Father, Son. and the Holy Spirit. This Ordiance is symbolizing the death burrial and rising of our old sinful self and the rising of our new creation of self. Like Jesus who died for us all who will call Him to save us, and His death and burial, and Jesus reiaing from the dead. I think you have brought a very interesting question to the forum, and my answer is only one of my opinion, and others may not agree, but we respect and show love and kindness here, nice I think. Blessings. justme |

The Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) does not specify whether men or women or children should be able to baptise. Maybe children can baptize as well. I do not know where the question came from, but I hope hope you see where the answers are leading.

Aixen7z4: I wrote this on Febuary 2nd of this year, so I had to refresh my recall. I don't remember the context of the note or question I was responding to. I feel as little as I can gather, I proberly was giving a specfic answer to a quite specfic question. To be quite honest I don't recall if my note was ever responded to. I think sound theological thinking would eliminate children baptizing children, or at least I would hope so. However, in the world in which we live in how Scripture is twisted anything is possible. When we see homosexuality being debated as being an acceptable christian lifestyle, I doubt that anything might not be up in the air for debate. When Scripture says you shall not, where is there to be misunderstood? I think we have all been here before, right? Blessings. justme |

Scripture gives us commands, directions, instructions. It is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. Those things are written for us, that we may know how we ought to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God. Without the Scriptures we are lost, and we should feel at a loss until we have gone to it and found the answers. Without Scripture we are nowhere, and when we resort to “I don’t see anything wrong with …” without consulting Scripture we have stepped onto a slippery slope that leads to I don’t know where. |
