Hi, SHAE! As Doc said this is not an Advice Forum... we can only offer Scriture... Jesus made it quite clear that marriage is not a state of convenience but a relationship in God (Matthew 19:3-9); only adultery/fornication by one of the spouses can cause that relationship to be nulled. Since I do not know your personal situation I can only offer that you pray on it before making any decision... however, I can offer that: Jesus did not say a woman must uphold the marital relationship while the husban goes about engaging in new/old relationships; the command is binding on both spouses, as is the dissolution of the marriage. I warn you though, if you do not divorce your husband: a) You cannot retaliate by having extramarital affairs--Jesus calls that adultery! b) You cannot hold your husband's past (to the date when you receive him back) extramarital relations against him--to forgive means to exonerate (remove from accountability), you cannot forgive partially! c) Set rules and boundaries--it you do not demand respect, it is likely that he will do it again! d) Do not use your children as excuse/bargaining chips--forcing your husband to stay in a marriage he does not respect will not assure that he will love your children any better; using your children to hold the relationship together will only burden your children with a responsibility that is not their's; poisoning the mind of the children against your husband--if you do not get him back--will only destroy all Christian love and value (both in your heart and theirs). God Bless! Angel |
