1 | How could Rahab be mother of Boaz? | Matt 1:5 | RogerB | 140296
In Matthew 1:5, Rahab is listed as the mother of Boaz. This forum has stated that this was the same Rahab as in Joshua 3. However, is there not a significant timeline between when Joshua crossed the Jordan river and when Solomon was born. My time estimate is that this time gap is something on the order of 200-300 years. How could this have been possible? Is this the only place in the bible that lists this feature about Rahab?
2 | How could Rahab be mother of Boaz? | Matt 1:5 | Searcher56 | 140297
Scripture ... Ruth 4:20-21, 1 Chr 2:11, Matt 1:5-6, Luke 3:32 ... Three other accounts say so ... we don't know when Rurh happened, but it appears to be during the time of the book of Judges. Note Salmon is not Solomon (Matt 1:5-6). "Salmon was the father of Boaz by Rahab, Boaz was the father of Obed by Ruth, and Obed the father of Jesse. Jesse was the father of David the king. David was the father of Solomon by Bathsheba who had been the wife of Uriah" (Matt 1:5-6). "And to Amminadab was born Nahshon, and to Nahshon, Salmon, and to Salmon was born Boaz, and to Boaz, Obed" (Ruth 4:20-21). "Nahshon became the father of Salma, Salma became the father of Boaz" (1 Chr 2:11). "The son of Jesse, the son of Obed, the son of Boaz, the son of Salmon, the son of Nahshon" (Luke 3:32). |
