The record of Joshua shows that he is great commander conquering 6 nations and 31 kings Now began the wars of conquest which Joshua carried on for many years, the record of which is in the book which bears his name. Six nations and thirty-one kings were conquered by him (Jos 11:18-23; 12:24). Having thus subdued the Canaanites, Joshua divided the land among the tribes, Timnath-serah in Mount Ephraim being assigned to himself as his own inheritance. (See Shiloh; Priest.) He strategy is with the faith into the lord, when the other spy reported that they cannot destroy the enemy of they are giants it is Joshua reported that they can destroy the enemy with the help of the Lord. Nu 13:31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. Nu 14:7 And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land. Nu 14:8 If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey. Nu 14:9 Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not. God bless |
