1 | Jeremiah 3:16 vs John 3:16, thoughts? | Jer 3:16 | pestro | 68649
I am new to this page. I didn't see this asked. Forgive me if it has been. I was studying Jeremiah and I noticed that verse 3:16 appears to be answered with verse John 3:16. I am sure there must be a lot of discussion of this occurance, but I can't seem to find any. can some one point me to some good writing on this occurance? |

2 | Jeremiah 3:16 vs John 3:16, thoughts? | Jer 3:16 | Makarios | 68650
Greetings Pestro, Welcome to the StudyBibleForum! Jeremiah 3:16 "It shall be in those days when you are multiplied and increased in the land," declares the LORD, "they will no longer say, 'The ark of the covenant of the LORD.' And it will not come to mind, nor will they remember it, nor will they miss it, nor will it be made again." [NASB] John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." [KJV] In Jeremiah 3:16, I interpret the passage as saying, 'The ark of the covenant will be irrelevant when the Messiah comes.' In John 3:16, the Bible speaks of God's plan of salvation to all mankind. Is this the comparison that you were looking for? Blessings to you, Makarios |

3 | Jeremiah 3:16 vs John 3:16, thoughts? | Jer 3:16 | pestro | 68711
The Ark, and the Holy of Holy's was a manmade version of the real thing. Jesus came to do away with that. I thought it interesting that the verses lined up that way. Maybe I am reading too much into it, but it struck me as interesting.

Thanks for sharing that, Pestro. We know that the original authors did not originally write their books in chapter and verse, so any coincidental 'lining up' of passages is interesting, even though I don't overtly look for such occurrences. Blessings to you, Makarios |
