Hello Native Christian I would say that tongues ceased with the last disciples of Christ. I see 1 Cor 13:8 as relating to the close of the canon of Scripture when these gifts are no longer required. Steve |

Hi Steve Did all the gifts cease or only the 3 mentioned in 1 Cor 13:8? And if only those 3, why? Also, doesn't the word Christian mean disciple of Christ? If that's the case then which "last disciples" are being referenced? |

Hello Native Christian I would say only the three gifts mentioned have ceased, because they are the only three that are mentioned as coming to an end. I used your terminology to give you an indication of when the gifts end. I believe it's more accurate to say they ended when the NT was complete. Steve |
