2 | why God? | Job 2:6 | Searcher56 | 58592 | ||
Scripture ... Gen 22:1ff; Exo 20:20; Job 1-2; Psa 26:2, 51:1ff; 2 Cor 13:5; Jam 1:3, 13ff ... God tested Abraham (Gen 22:1), to prove his love. There is nothing about his emotions. This was directly done by God. I also think God directly tested Israel, at least once (Exo 20:20) ... including in Judges. Satan was allowed to do anything to Job, except take his life (Job 2:6). Look at Job's focus ... it reamined on God. His friends may of caused some emotional stirs. Methinks that when we take our focus off of Him, we do get discouraged, down, sad, shallow.... We need to be tested (Psa 26:2) and test ourselves (2 Cor 13:5). James 1:3 says "testing of your faith produces endurance" ... ... 1 Pet 4:12 tells me to be prepared, "Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you;" ... read on to verse 16, at least. This thought just in ... Psalm 51 is an account of the result of sin. We can only blame ourselves (Jam 1:13ff). I hope this helps, Searcher |
