Greetings Dfriars! According to John F. Walvoord's "Every Prophecy of the Bible" (available through Chariot Victor Publishing, or at http://www.crossings.com), pg. 614, "There is no correspondence of the scene here [describing Rev. 18:1-24] with what happened to Babylon in the Old Testament, and this gives further basis for belief that this is a future situation where Babylon is rebuilt and then brought to ruin in connection with the events related to the second coming of Christ." So in other words, there is nothing in the Old Testament that prophecies to a "rebuilding" of Babylon. Blessings to you, Nolan |

3 | the prophecy of the rebuilding?(ot) | Daniel | EdB | 25503
Nolan I have to ask how did you know he was talking about the rebuilding of Babylon? Dfrair seems to be studying Daniel an Daniel talks about about the rebuilding of the temple implied, Jerusalem and the nation of Isreal along with the what many believe to be the revised Roman empire.I was just wondering how you decided on Babylon, I know I had to ask to for clarification. 4 | the prophecy of the rebuilding?(ot) | Daniel | Makarios | 25590
Hey there EdB, I knew that he was talking about Babylon because Dfriar and I have had some "prior" Forum correspondence over the past couple of days, and he has told me that he is writing a paper on Babylon and Daniel. So, with this in mind, I have proceeded to write all of my posts to him with Babylon in mind, so that I can help him. However, I agree: it is difficult for someone to "know" exactly what someone else is really looking for unless they either have prior correspondence (like we did), or if they are very detailed and specific in their questions (in which Dfriar was not). So, upon the evidence of the posts, it seems that only I (sadly) knew what Dfriar was looking for. However, people can GAIN by getting OTHER valuable points of view from OTHER educated individuals (like EdB) by being MORE SPECIFIC and more detailed in the asking of their questions! That way, people are not limited to just my point of view, but they get EdB's point of view as well, which can add much insight and a different perspective than just Nolan's point of view, which may not always be "correct".. :-) Blessings to you and keep up the good work!
