Greetings, Lament means to mourne or mourning. "Lamentations" is believed to of been written by the prophet Jeremiah. Jeremiah had predicted the calamity to befall Jerusalem in his book and In Lamentations, he concentrates on the bitter suffering and heartache in more detail. Since it relates so closely to the book of Jeremiah and can be considered "part 2" of the prediction of Jerusalem it is placed after Jeremiah in the prophetic section of the bible even though it is written in the form of poetry. prayon | ||||||
