("Jabes") Jabez was a pious Israelite who asked God for blessing and received it. (1 Chron. 4:9-10). He, among many other biblical characters, illustrates the power of prayer. Jabez currently is enjoying a season of unprecedented renown thanks to the popular book, "The Prayer of Jabez." --Hank | ||||||

angel-girl- I, too, have the book. The only thing I have against it is that it could just become a ritualized prayer. It is not a good luck saying, or something to say "Hey God, I said it for 30 days, now bless me". I think some people might go off on this tangent. I do agree with Hank, it is an example of how people can rise above what they were born into through prayer and God's blessings. The one thing that stood out to me, and could be compared to today, is that if he was the only one mentioned in that way, what were all the others doing? Christ's peace to you Debbie |
