Hi, Brother Ray... Using an interlineary with Strong's numbers, I find that all of the pronouns are implicit based upon the conjugation of verbs and other aspects of grammar. It looks as though the pronouns (and some prepositions) are added in order to make the meaning clear in English. Or am I misunderstanding something? In Him, Doc |

Greetings Doc! Pronouns are included in the form of the verb. For instance, in Greek: legw means 'I say', legeis means 'You say' (Sing), legei means 'He says', legomen means 'We say', legete means 'You say' (Pl), and, legousi means 'They say'. However, there are also actual pronouns in Greek as well that are often part of the text. They are usually used for emphasis, since they are not strictly necessary. Thank you, Brother Tim! Latin is similar... Spanish does the same sort of thing, too... which, I suppose, stands to reason given the origin of Spanish. (German, what little I know, tends to require pronouns like English does... which, I suppose, would also stand to reason.) But... Does "Legousi" have anything to do with Bela? :-) Sorry... its been a long day. :-) In Him, Doc |
