1 | 1 Kings Chapter 13 | 1 Kin 13:1 | Searcher56 | 178914
Scripture ... He said to him, "I also am a prophet like you, and an angel spoke to me by the word of the LORD, saying, 'Bring him back with you to your house, that he may eat bread and drink water.'" But he lied to him. (1 Kin 13:18) ... God's day to you, Azure, Point 1 - I think verse 18 is key ... even more the last 5 words. Point 2 - The Bible doesn'tsay. There is a danger in guessing. God uses evel people to speak judgment. S |

I think the whole is a lie.

Does the Bible give an account of the Old Prophet before chapter 13? Using only the detail given in chapter 13, I would also consider verse 18 as a whole a lie since it says strait out that he was lying. Although it would easily be disputed that the old prophet was a prophet like the Man of God since the LORD used him as such in 20-22, I would still say that the whole verse is a lie because there just isn't enough info to go on. I would also like to know why it is phrased "old prophet" and not "man of God" or "false prophet" Prophet or not God can use anyone for anything He sees fit if it makes sense to us or not. for His Glory, Joanna :) |
