1 | Still wondering about employer abuse? | Numbers | EdB | 148164
jsantana I'm not sure you will find Biblical support one way or another on this subject. But if you feel your being abused then you have a right to defend yourself. However you must do it in right order. If someone else is causing the problem you should first confront them. If they refuse to listen then you need to take it to your employer. In whatever fashion you do it do it in a manner that is honest and righteous and done in a way you would want it done if the situation was reversed. In other words make sure you do it as you would want it done unto you. I will add a little corporate wisdom here. Only say it once to a manager. You may have to say it to more than one manager but only say it once to each. If you keep harping on it they will label you as an attitude problem and your concerns will go unheeded. EdB |

We had this question brought to our bible study and I need a reference in the bible for this person. He doesn't believe that he has the right to say anything because he feels that scripture tells him that he has to take all abuse the way Jesus did for us. But didn't Jesus even confront his accusers? Thank you for your help. If you have any suggestions please let me know.

People have the wrong view of turning the other cheek. Jesus said this is reference to religious differences not that we should become the melba toast of the world. Notice Jesus's disciples carried swords, Jesus did not chasen them for that but cautioned them on it's use. When the soldier asked what he should do no one told him to desert but rather to be a righteous soldier. When people come at us for Jesus sake we should turn the other cheek but nothing is said in the Bible if we are being abused we should take it. Let's us logic here, if a women is being sexual abused in the business place does your friend think she should tolerate that? I suspect no. Then why does he feel he is required to accept any kind of abuse? Is seems this person is trying to hide behind scripture to avoid confronting the issue. Sometimes it is easier to make excuses rather than doing anything to change the situation. EdB |
