ronscarpet, first worship (shachah)is to bow down before God, with with knees and face on the ground. It is not serve ('abad) or anything else. Worship (shachah) and serve ('abad) are used together serveral times, includinf Exo 20:5. While Moses may of know about God in Egypt, he learned about the many gods of Egypt. His first change was in the tent of Jethro, where one god (God) was worshiped, which may not of been the same one as their ancester Lot knew about ... or Abraham, his uncle. Change two is at the burning bush, when meeting the I AM. Change three was on the mountain for 40 days, where God told him He didn't like what He saw down below. Moses was very displeased, too. I hope this answered your question, Searcher |
