1 | Artifical insemination | Genesis | EdB | 104200 | ||
God opens and closes wombs and man has the ability to circumvent that. Does it make it right? Then there will be those that say God gave man the ability to circumvent it. Did God give the man the ability to circumvent God's desire? Or did man in his pursuit of being the master of his own destiny decide to channel his efforts into something other than God's highest and best? This is celarly seen at the tower of Babel. We have seen artificial insemination used in live stock in efforts to breed bigger and better and now we are beginning to see the consequences. What man judged to be superior often turns out to inferior, and we are seeing health problems now in cattle and livestock that never existed. Many factors have been pointed at but all the trails are slowly pointing to the consequences inherent to artificial insemination. Because we can and it seems right, does not mean it is God’s highest and best. As Hank so excellently stated in his post "Artificial" should be a hint. EdB |

Artificial? Where do you draw the line on what is "artificial"? Would you consider taking a fertility pill (accompanied by the "ordained method of sex") as being artificial? If so, then is taking medication to improve your health or keep you alive artificial or sinful? Is it obstructing God's plan for me to attempt to keep myself alive? Man as created, invented, manipulated and circumvented a considerable amount in the last 2000 years. How do we distinguish between that which has been done so that man could be “the master of his own destiny” and that which has been part of God’s plan? |

mitelt The question should be not where do I draw the line. It should be where did God draw the line? Rachel was barren and she had an idea a way to increase her fertility if you will. While what she did may trouble us today it was the accepted practice of the time. In any case we all know the results. Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. We can argue the virtue of every invention or discovery of man pro and con, but in fact one thing really matters has man drawn closer or further from God through it all? Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. EdB |
