1 | Why didn't Noah stop tower of Babel? | Genesis | Makarios | 95751 | ||
Greetings Darcy, You are correct, the flood came in the very year that Methuselah passed away. But he may have passed away before the flood waters came. As we know, Noah was 600 years old when the flood came (Gen. 7:6), so Lamech, Noah's father, had just passed away five years before the flood (Gen. 5:30). Therefore, everyone else that was left on the earth would die, and Noah would then become the oldest living human being after the flood. Blessings to you, Makarios |

Excuse me for "butting in", but the name Methuselah acutally means "His death shall bring." Interesting to think it took him 969 years for his name to take on the meaning his parents gave him, don't you think? Tom |
