1 | Tithing before Mosaic Law | Gen 14:20 | savedsince1980 | 217768
No. It is mentioned only twice before it became part of the 613 laws we collectively call "the law." Jesus mentioned the tithe only in reference to what the Pharisees were doing. (By the way Jesus was still under the law. The new covenant wasn't yet in effect.) Tithing is not mentioned one time in the book of Acts or in any of the epistles except for Hebrews, where it is part of the old covenant which has been superseded by the new covenant. Tithing is not for the church. If you really want to know what tithing's about ask a Jew. Modern Jews, who supposedly keep the law, don't even tithe!
