One of the things we all have to learn is that there never was, nor will there ever be a perfect church. There was never any mention of a perfect church in the bible either. You see, this world was not meant to be Heaven. Heaven is where we will have perfection with our Father and Savior. We have to remember that church leaders can be like Saul, who had to step down to David. Or like David, who sinned against the one his heart loved. Our emphasis can't be too much on leaders because we will be let down. At some point "we" have to learn to be leaders (no longer on spiritual milk), so we can, with our hearts and love for God, lead others to Him. In regards to tithing: Scripture states, "although my conscious is clear that does not make me innocent", but it also states to "give willingly". Whatever you do has to be based on "your relationship with God", and not persuasion by man. That is why it is sooooo very important to be in your bible daily, that way satan cannot use the Scriptures against you. As others say, satan most likely knows the scriptures better than what we do. Now in regards to losing your salvation: anybody can tell you anything. One person can say that you are constantly saved by grace and the Blood of Jesus, while others can say, something else quite contrary using scripture. Again, you need to be in your bible, and pray for God to lead you to the right scriptures. I won't jot down the scripture that I have remarked on, because you need to be in your bible and look for it yourself. As far as attending another congregation, I don't see any thing wrong with that, but again, there will be no perfect church. But I hope you find a congregation where the leaders know that they are held responsible for their congregation and truly love and want to serve our Lord and spread His Word. Peace. |
